Behavioral Health Representative I - Job Overview

Schedule: 8AM-4:30PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrange language line interpretation services for patients.
  • Sort and distribute mail and faxes efficiently.
  • Assist new patients with registration, ensuring all forms are completed.
  • Manage EHR and continuity of care lists to optimize patient care.
  • Oversee provider schedules and manage patient appointments and waitlists.
  • Process and follow up on internal service orders and referrals.
  • Obtain and record patient vital signs promptly.
  • Screen new patients and complete risk assessments as needed.
  • Provide translation services for monolingual providers when necessary.
  • Attend mandatory all-staff meetings to stay informed and engaged.
  • Complete reminder calls to ensure patient appointment compliance.
  • Handle prior authorizations for psychological testing and medications.
  • Assist in triaging behavioral health emergencies according to policies.
  • Conduct blood draws, injections, EKGs, and drug screens as required.
  • Process lab service orders accurately in the EMR system.
  • Provide coverage and support across different locations as needed.
  • Foster a respectful and professional environment for patients and colleagues.
  • Promote effective teamwork to achieve departmental goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Training (minimum requirements) BLS (CPR & AED) Certified required.
  • Three to six months of related experience preferred.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
  • Familiarity with BH preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Good direct and telephone communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team setting Leadership ability for program management, growth, and development within the Center and the Community.
  • Communication/interpersonal skills to interact courteously and professionally with associates and customers of various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interact effectively with various community agencies and resources.
  • Coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Bilingual English and Spanish speaking preferred.
