Ultrasound Technologist

We are seeking a dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves utilizing cutting-edge technology to produce echo-mapped images that are essential for pre-natal care and beyond.

In this role, you will not only assist OB providers in determining gestational age and expected delivery dates but also play a critical part in the development stage assessment. Your work will directly impact the health outcomes of our community, providing vital information that shapes patient care and enhances healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze captured images to identify variations between healthy and abnormal conditions, compiling detailed reports for physicians.
  • Ensure optimal image clarity by adjusting equipment settings as needed for precise diagnostics.
  • Guide patients through procedures, explaining processes clearly and ensuring comfort by preparing them properly.
  • Utilize advanced scanning techniques and maintain optimal equipment settings to promote high-quality patient care.
  • Engage effectively with radiologists, describing clinical histories and customizing scan protocols for superior anatomical visualization.
  • Manage daily maintenance of ultrasound machines and ensure the cleanliness and proper storage of all equipment and supplies.
  • Adhere to Legacy's HIPAA guidelines, preventing unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Participate actively in quality assurance programs and performance improvements, meeting monthly with the Director of Ultrasound.
  • Support a culture of diversity, teamwork, and innovation, contributing to the achievement of Legacy's mission and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and in good standing.
  • Completion of clinical and classroom programs meeting ARDMS eligibility requirements.
  • Valid BLS/CPR certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience in obstetric/fetal ultrasound.
  • Commitment to continuing education to maintain certification with the American Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
