The Financial Analyst I prepares and analyzes various financial reports and participates in the budget to actual variance alerts process.  This position also meets our Site and Medical Directors on a regular basis and assists with the preparation of budgets, financial models, audits, Balance Sheet reconciliations, etc.   


Essential Duties & Functions 
 
  • Upload data in financial reporting system per established timeline, including comparison to general ledger system. 

  • Analyze data in our accounting, costing, financial budgeting & reporting systems and make recommendations of potential cost saving opportunities to management.  

  • Assist with monthly budget to actual variance alerts process through financial reporting system. 

  • Assist with preparation of governmental, private foundation, and general operating budgets. 

  • Assist with preparation of financial models for forecasting and analysis by management.  

  • Serve as liaison for questions or information requests, variance alerts, etc. 

  • Assist with preparation for annual financial audit and other financial reviews, including those by funders. 

  • Participate in various cross-training initiatives within department, functions including but not limited to general ledger, daily receipts, Balance Sheet reconciliations (including bank reconciliations), fixed assets, etc. 

  • Keep abreast of changing state and federal laws, procedures and accounting practices, and makes recommendations for or implements changes in accordance with organizational policy.  

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Training 

(minimum requirements) 

Bachelor’s degree Business/Accounting or related field required. 




Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements) 
 
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations and Legacy financial policies and procedures.  

  • Ability to prepare financial reports.  

  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.  

  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.  

  • Ability to develop, plan and implement short- and long-range goals.  

  • Knowledge of business practices and procedures.

Requirements

Experience in financial reporting, analytics and advanced Excel skills preferred 
Minimum 0 to 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
