Therapist (School-Based) - Job Overview

Summary:
To provide high quality psychotherapy to children with identified behavioral health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Screen and assess new clients to identify presenting issues, address immediate needs, and provide appropriate referrals.
  • Conduct thorough psychosocial evaluations to guide individualized care plans.
  • Deliver individual, couples, and family therapy to clients facing biopsychosocial stressors.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, with a focus on effective childhood disorder interventions.
  • Collaborate with clients, healthcare providers, and physicians to design tailored treatment plans.
  • Reassess clients periodically to update treatment plans based on their progress and evolving needs.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of client interactions in medical records.
  • Perform billing activities in alignment with agency protocols.
  • Stay informed on the latest therapeutic techniques, theories, and research to enhance clinical effectiveness.
  • Engage in monthly supervisory meetings to review cases and refine therapeutic approaches.
  • Educate clients on health and illness prevention, including family planning and preventative health services.
  • Participate in required meetings and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Work a flexible full-time schedule, including some evenings and occasional weekends, to meet client needs.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned to support the mission of Legacy Community Health.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social or behavioral sciences
  • FULL current Texas license (LCSW, LPC and/or LMFT) in good standing with credentialing board
  • Maintain First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Participate in Medicare, Medicaid, workers' compensation, and other payment/reimbursement programs requested by Legacy
  • Minimum of 2 years paid work experience providing psychotherapy
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred 
  • Ph.D. holders in their specialty will receive CME/CEU stipend equivalent to doctorate level, as per policy
