Manager - Pharmacy (Infusion) - Job Overview

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM)

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development & Strategy: Lead the start-up and operationalization of outpatient infusion pharmacy services.
  • Develop workflows for various pharmacy models and strategies, ensuring alignment with Legacy priorities.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to strategize growth, optimize payer mix, and expand services.
  • Clinical & Operational Oversight: Oversee sterile compounding operations, ensuring safe preparation and dispensing of medications.
  • Implement clinical protocols and partner with providers to monitor therapy outcomes and ensure accurate billing.
  • Financial & Inventory Management: Manage high-cost drug inventory, optimize utilization, and ensure financial sustainability.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Recruit, train, and develop pharmacists and technicians, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Compliance & Quality: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and lead quality assurance programs.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with various departments to ensure seamless pharmacy operations.
  • Patient Access & Experience: Oversee financial assistance programs and support equitable access to therapies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and/or relevant graduate degree in Public Health, Business, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas Pharmacist license and Pharmacist Preceptor license.
  • Must be sterile products IV Certified and maintain First Aid/CPR.
  • 3-5 years of infusion, specialty, or hospital pharmacy experience.
  • 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile compounding standards (USP <797>/<800>), infusion therapies and biologics, pharmacy billing models (medical vs pharmacy benefit).
  • Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Healthcare Administration (MHA).
  • Post-graduate pharmacy residency preferred (PGY1/PGY2 or 10 years of pharmacy management experience).
  • Experience in outpatient or ambulatory infusion centers, 340B program management, HIV, oncology, or specialty pharmacy.
  • Board certification (e.g., BCSCP, BCOP, BCIDP, AAHIVP).
  • Experience building new clinical programs or service lines.
  • Strategic mindset with ability to forecast and respond to emerging healthcare trends.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills for both professional and community audiences.
  • Highly organized and comfortable with project timelines, marketing deliverables, and cross-departmental alignment.
  • Adept at navigating both clinical and business environments, synthesizing data, translating findings into action, and reporting results effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project tracking tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com), and professional social media platforms (LinkedIn, X).
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in performance data interpretation, budgeting, and project management.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and State/Federal laws governing medical services.
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize.
