Vice President - Human Resources (Job Overview)

Schedule: Monday-Friday | Hybrid

The Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) will serve as a pivotal member of Legacy Community Health's senior executive leadership team, driving the strategic vision for the organization's people functions. This role is instrumental in aligning human resources initiatives with organizational goals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of excellence and engagement.

  • Lead the strategic direction of human resources to position Legacy as an Employer of Choice.
  • Oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to drive organizational growth and performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the senior executive leadership team to define strategic direction, organizational goals, and actionable plans.
  • Oversee all aspects of human resources, including recruiting, employee relations, training, compensation, benefits, and HR systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with executive and senior leadership teams to align HR strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Provide counsel, coaching, and advisory support to leaders at all levels to achieve organizational success.
  • Direct HR teams to optimize recruitment strategies, enhance employee retention, and improve overall satisfaction.
  • Implement and monitor performance management and training programs to support organizational growth and development.
  • Evaluate HR services for improvement opportunities and implement effective solutions to address identified gaps.
  • Analyze trends in HR issues, compliance concerns, and recruitment challenges to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and execute leadership training programs to build internal capacity and foster professional growth.
  • Oversee onboarding processes, New Employee Orientation, compliance training, and initiatives to enhance employee engagement.
  • Manage benefit programs, providing feedback on plan design to ensure competitive offerings.
  • Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory standards, including state and federal employment laws.
  • Provide timely reporting and insights to executive teams while coaching leaders to drive organizational performance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of ten years of progressive HR leadership experience, including at least five years in senior leadership roles.
  • Proven experience in managing recruitment functions and supporting substantial organizational growth.
  • Preferred experience in healthcare or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in customer service and communication, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, including conflict resolution, coaching, and fostering teamwork.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR policies, employment laws, OSHA standards, and state/federal regulations.
  • Proficiency in HR tools, including Microsoft Office, applicant tracking systems, HRIS, and learning platforms.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
