Schedule: Monday-Friday (7:30AM-8PM) | Saturday (7:30AM-5:30PM) | 1 Shift Every Two Weeks | 4 Days Per Month

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists by obtaining and entering patient information to ensure appropriate medication doses.
  • Ensure patients receive correct medications using proper dispensing procedures.
  • Maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies, using safety precautions when stocking.
  • Prioritize tasks based on workload to ensure efficient operations.
  • Process insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations promptly.
  • Complete and document daily and monthly activity checklists, including expired drug checks and area inspections.
  • Offer counseling time to patients and document when refused.
  • Communicate with referring physician offices or insurance companies as needed.
  • Perform weekly controlled substance cycle counts and document appropriately.
  • Participate in the education of new employees and training of pharmacy staff.
  • Provide positive customer service at the cash register, adhering to Legacy Community Health's standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure respectful communication with customers and co-workers.
  • Notify the Pharmacy Manager of unresolved issues and disseminate important information to peers.
  • Participate in physical inventories and support the 340b program inventory integrity.
  • Maintain prescription files and perform daily money collection procedures.
  • Reconcile prescription fills against billing and perform other assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate.
  • Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Must be able to pass a math test pertinent to retail pharmacy activities.
  • Must maintain BLS /CPR.
  • Must maintain required certifications.
  • Must have two (2) years healthcare experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1+ years community pharmacy preferred.
  • 1+ years pharmacy logistics preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community and the general public.
  • Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Demonstrate project management skills and understanding of 340b regulations, inventory management and managing a cash register.
  • Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize.
  • Computer experience Windows, Excel, and Accounting software.
  • Bilingual preferred.
