Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms for patients by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Welcome, seat, and drape patients in preparation for dental treatments.
  • Review and accurately record patients' medical and dental histories and vital signs.
  • Provide information to patients and staff, addressing questions and requests.
  • Sterilize and deliver instruments to treatment areas, ensuring they are positioned for efficient access.
  • Expose and develop radiographic images, and manage study casts diligently.
  • Maintain patient comfort throughout the treatment process.
  • Fabricate temporary restorations and clean removable appliances to maintain patient oral health.
  • Manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
  • Educate patients with oral hygiene and post-operative instructions, applying topical fluoride as needed.
  • Document dental services by accurately charting findings, diagnoses, treatments, and care plans.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, managing internal referrals and communications.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and maintain a safe, sanitary work environment in compliance with regulations.
  • Attend CE classes to sustain professional knowledge and contribute to team efforts with additional duties as needed.
  • Support clinic functionality by traveling to other locations as required.
  • Participate in the Performance Improvement Program to enhance service delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Registered Dental Assistant authorized to practice in Texas.
  • Hold and maintain BLS/CPR certification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Proficient in electronic records and maintaining sterile techniques.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of dental materials and OSHA regulations.
  • Capability to manage multiple deadlines and make informed decisions.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, enhancing patient communication.
