Key Responsibilities
- Interpret, clarify, and accurately transcribe medication orders within established time frames.
- Ensure the suitability of prescriptions by analyzing diagnoses, body metrics, allergies, and potential drug interactions.
- Uphold pharmacy practices in alignment with regulatory requirements and evidence-based medicine.
- Conduct thorough Drug Utilization Reviews to detect duplicates and adverse reactions.
- Dispense medications while managing inventory based on compliance standards.
- Deliver patient counseling on medication use and health prevention strategies.
- Facilitate Medication Therapy Management by conducting medication reviews and optimizing treatment plans.
- Document adverse reactions and communicate with stakeholders about patient health issues.
- Mentor and oversee pharmacy staff, ensuring courteous and efficient operations.
- Engage in continuous learning about pharmaceuticals, enhancing patient education, and ensuring patient safety.
- Enhance pharmacy operations, policy development, and compliance under the guidance of Pharmacist-in-Charge duties, if applicable.
- Provide excellence in customer service while handling clinical inquiries from routine to complex.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited pharmacy program (Pharm.D. or equivalent B.S.).
- Current Texas Pharmacist license and Pharmacist Preceptor license.
- Immunization certification and First Aid/CPR training.
- AAHIVP certification within 18 months if in patient-facing roles.
- Minimum two years of experience in healthcare, with preferred knowledge in community pharmacy management, HIV/AIDs, geriatrics, and pediatrics.
- Strong computer skills including Windows and Excel with ability to manage tasks in dynamic settings.
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, and experience managing confidential information.
- Bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish beneficial.
- Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement programs and 340B requirements is advantageous.
