Position Summary:
To provide high quality integrated behavioral health screenings and brief interventions to clients with identified behavioral health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Screen new clients at risk in primary care settings to identify and address their presenting problems.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and provide crisis interventions.
  • Offer brief interventions to individuals experiencing biopsychosocial stressors.
  • Deliver direct clinical services, including evaluations and counseling using motivational interviewing.
  • Review client records and develop comprehensive evaluation reports.
  • Assist with service coordination and follow-up procedures.
  • Coordinate consultations and services with community agencies and health service providers.
  • Collaborate with clients, physicians, and other providers to develop client-centered treatment plans.
  • Re-assess clients and update treatment plans as necessary.
  • Work a flexible full-time schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Meet monthly with a clinical supervisor to review client cases.
  • Document all client encounters in the medical record within three days.
  • Perform billing activities according to agency procedures.
  • Stay informed on developments in integrated behavioral techniques and research.
  • Advise patients on health and illness prevention, including family planning services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the social or behavioral sciences.
  • Must have a "full" current Texas license, (LCSW LPC or LMFT) be in good standing with their credentialing board.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years paid work experience providing assessment, brief intervention and/or psychotherapy.
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadline and decision making responsibilities.
  • Frequently required to sit; occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Frequently required to talk and/or communicate both expressively & receptively. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to bend, twist, climb, and reach.
  • Moderate concentration/intensity, which includes prolonged mental effort with limited opportunity for breaks.
  • Normal memory, taking into consideration the amount and type of information.
  • Moderate level of complexity for decision making.
  • Must be able to handle normal levels of intensity.
