Director of Patient Access - Job Overview

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM)

Essential Duties & Functions

  • Lead and advise on best practices to develop and manage the architectural interface essential for accurate reporting.
  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of patient portal software while serving as a liaison to software developers.
  • Facilitate the implementation and enhancement of Patient Self-Scheduling software.
  • Coordinate the effectiveness of Appointment Reminder software and its developers.
  • Provide guidance to optimize Telephony software through report analysis and workflows related to the contact center.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor the Patient Access Dashboard.
  • Create and oversee staffing models for Contact Center Agents.
  • Support Patient Experience-related projects and act as a liaison for Quality Department action plans.
  • Guide the reporting framework for new and existing agency initiatives.
  • Establish and manage the Departmental SharePoint site.
  • Act as a liaison with Managed Care Organizations, referring providers, and hospital partners.
  • Collaborate with service line leadership and marketing to onboard new specialties and expand existing service lines.
  • Create routine monitoring systems for staff training and auditing processes for continual improvement.
  • Lead productivity initiatives to meet patient access goals and identify areas for improvement across the organization.
  • Supervise the Patient Access Analyst.
  • Fulfill other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in healthcare
  • 2-3 years leadership experience
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadline and decision making responsibilities.
  • Adept in decision making responsibilities Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience with principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for both individuals and groups and development of evaluation tools is preferred.
