Pharmacist - Training and Development (Job Overview)

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM)

Key Responsibilities

  • Onboard pharmacy staff including pharmacists, technicians, and supportive staff following SOPs.
  • Identify knowledge and performance gaps and direct training and quality assurance programs.
  • Maintain employee documentation, competencies, and performance as per regulatory standards.
  • Stay updated on pharmacy practice, 340b, and URAC regulations.
  • Monitor and update policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes.
  • Design, develop, and execute training programs for all pharmacy service levels.
  • Provide mentorship to new employees and perform performance audits.
  • Assist in disciplinary actions regarding employee performance.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects.
  • Serve as a liaison to student and residency programs with affiliated pharmacy schools.
  • Collaborate with the organization's learning and development department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited college/university of pharmacy (Pharm.D or B.S. with equivalent experience)
  • Valid license from the Board of Pharmacy of the State of Texas
  • Must maintain First Aid /CPR
  • 5+ years of pharmacist experience
  • Completion of ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency certification (desirable)
  • Experience in training and development
  • Computer experience Windows, Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize
