Step into the innovative world of Legacy Community Health as a Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider in our brand-new clinic opening in early 2026. As a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, you will practice medicine under the expert guidance of our pediatricians, where your role is pivotal in providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services. Your expertise will empower community health and shape the future of pediatric care.
Responsibilities
- Accept patient referrals from nursing staff, healthcare professionals, and administrative personnel, initiating comprehensive health assessments as needed.
- Gather patient health histories through comprehensive interviews and review pertinent health records.
- Conduct patient interviews and provide counsel on health, illness prevention, and FQHC-compliant family planning services.
- Perform thorough physical examinations and develop tailored diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare plans.
- Collaborate with colleagues, supervising physicians, and specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Order and perform necessary diagnostic tests and procedures within the scope of practice.
- Educate patients about health conditions, treatment progress, and prevention strategies to promote informed healthcare decisions.
- Advocate for patient rights, emphasizing compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Deliver primary clinical therapy and establish treatment plans for individuals and groups.
- Engage in shaping and evaluating healthcare objectives, policies, and procedures to enhance service quality.
- Participate in quality assurance programs to uphold high standards of care.
- Maintain and expand your professional knowledge, advising staff on changes and advancements in the field.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and correspondence related to clinical activities.
- Undertake additional related duties as assigned to support our dynamic healthcare environment.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Texas Physician Assistant Board.
- Active participation in Medicare and Medicaid Programs, workers’ compensation, and other federal and state reimbursement programs.
- Compliance with payment plans of commercial insurers, HMOs, PPOs, accountable health plans, and other health benefit programs as required by Legacy.
