As a Bilingual English/Spanish OB/GYN Medical Assistant, you will serve as a vital linchpin in enhancing healthcare for our communities. In your crucial role, you will assist providers with various exams and minor procedures, maintain and optimize supply inventories in exam rooms, and ensure equipment is both clean and sterile, embodying the foremost standards of patient care. Beyond traditional duties, you will have the opportunity to engage directly with patients through injections and phlebotomy, further enhancing day-to-day healthcare delivery and patient comfort.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient interviews to gather medical information, measure vital signs, height, and weight for accurate medical record documentation.
  • Collect and manage blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens; ensure precise logging and preparation for testing.
  • Assist physicians in examination and treatment, offering necessary instruments and materials or performing tasks such as administering injections and suture removal.
  • Meticulously prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  • Cleanse and sterilize instruments, disposing of contaminated supplies following strict protocols.
  • Engage in phone consultations to discuss test results and address health concerns with clients, reinforcing our commitment to continuous patient care.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • Certified Medical Assistant or holder of a Medical Assistant certificate.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to ensure emergency response preparedness.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish, a vital requirement for effective communication with our diverse patient base.
