About the Position

The Registered Nurse at Legacy Community Health will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care management in an outpatient clinic setting.This will include perform selected nursing and administrative duties to assist physicians and other providers as part of the clinical care team. As the Clinic Nurse, you will conduct pre-visit planning, prepare patients for examination and treatment, and other nursing duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts prior to appointment with recent test results and correspondences to determine needed services
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to the exam room and take histories and vital signs in addition to preparing, cleaning and maintaining exam and treatment rooms
  • Give injections and draw blood, assist with EKGs, OB/GYN exams, and office procedures as needed and provide other patient care services as directed by physicians or providers
  • Maintain sample medication records, administer medication upon physician or provider order, and respond to medication requests per practice protocol
  • Triage and respond to patient communications

Requirements

  • Unrestricted Texas RN license or valid compact state licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • CPR & AED Certified
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) preferred
