Eligibility Specialist Bilingual - Job Overview

Your role is pivotal in helping patients navigate their eligibility for third-party reimbursement, providing them with the care they need.

- Be the first point of contact for prospective applicants and patients, offering compassionate support and guidance.
- Ensure the seamless admission of new patients into health services with precise data processing and coding for insurance billing.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct eligibility assessments for clients following specific program procedures.
- Ensure clients do not have another payer source before proceeding.
- Register clients into the CPCDMS and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Perform data entry of eligible clients into the electronic system.
- Maintain up-to-date and orderly eligibility files.
- Conduct renewal eligibility assessments as required.
- Confirm eligibility appointments with clients and set initial service appointments.
- Provide clients with a list of required eligibility documentation.
- Participate actively in the Performance Improvement Program.
- Demonstrate respect and promote effective working relations as part of a team.
- Attend all required safety training programs and operate equipment safely.
- Maintain work area according to Legacy standards and follow exposure control plans.
- Travel for training and coverage as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED with some medical knowledge.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of medical billing experience preferred.
- Training or background in ICD-A / CPT codes preferred.
- Ability to understand bookkeeping and accounting terminology.
- Ability to operate computers and office machines.
- Must work under pressure.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices preferred.
