Director of Shared Services (Hybrid) - Job Overview

Schedule: 8AM-5PM | Hybrid

Join our family as the Director of Shared Services and help strengthen the centralized systems and business functions that make meaningful community healthcare possible. In this role, you’ll lead teams supporting Accounts Payable, Payroll, Accounting, and other administrative services while helping colleagues across the organization experience more consistent, efficient, and responsive support.

Your financial leadership, operational insight, and passion for collaboration will have a broad organizational impact. You’ll work closely with leaders across Accounting, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, IT, and operations to improve processes, support compliance, and help ensure high-quality service throughout the healthcare ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a shared services strategy aligned with organizational financial and operational goals.
  • Identify opportunities to centralize, standardize, and scale processes across departments.
  • Support long-term initiatives, including standardization, automation, and ERP optimization.
  • Partner with the Director of Accounts Payable and Payroll Supervisor to standardize workflows, eliminate redundancies, and implement best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives through process redesign and automation.
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality service delivery to internal stakeholders.
  • Implement performance dashboards and reporting to track trends and improvement areas.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, GAAP, labor laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and support internal and external audits.
  • Partner with leadership to mitigate operational and financial risks.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Accounting, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, IT, and operational leaders.
  • Build strong relationships with internal customers to ensure service alignment.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex operational issues.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop shared services teams, including Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Accounting support.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer service.
  • Align staffing and organizational structure with service demand.
  • Partner with IT to enhance ERP, HRIS, and workflow automation tools.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives, including automation and analytics.
  • Ensure systems support scalability and data-driven decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited University

Required Years of Experience

  • Eight (8) years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or shared services operations is required.
  • Five (5) years of leadership experience managing multi-functional teams is required.
  • Previous experience leading benefits and insurance audits.

Desirable Education and/or Experience

  • Twelve (12) or more years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or shared services operations is preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Certified Accounts Payable Manager (CAPM) preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare or multi-entity environments is preferred.
  • Previous experience implementing or optimizing ERP systems is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively with internal Legacy staff ad leaders as well as external vendors and stakeholders.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen. Strong knowledge of AP, Payroll, and internal control frameworks.
  • Advanced understanding of 1099 rules, Wage and Hour Laws, FLSA, IRS, SSA, State and Local compliance.
  • Ability to think strategically and effectively execute plans and programs.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for operational efficiency and lead process improvement teams and activities.
  • Adept in leading change management and transformation leadership.
  • Ability to work under pressure within strict deadlines.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • This job requires access to confidential and sensitive information, requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

  • Working knowledge of SAP Concur, MIP
