Pediatrician - Job Overview

Schedule: Monday-Tuesday (9AM-5PM) | Thursday-Friday (9AM-5PM) 

As a Pediatrician, you will provide compassionate clinical care to children and adolescents while helping families access meaningful, community-centered healthcare. You will join our family of care professionals and play an important role in supporting healthy development, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment across the pediatric population.

You will build trusted relationships with patients, families, students, and colleagues while bringing your expertise to a collaborative healthcare team. Your work will strengthen pediatric services in the community and support the clinic’s commitment to accessible, high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assessments and provide treatment to clients of the clinic.
  • Keep scheduled hours for extended clinic coverage during days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Work hours to remain flexible according to the needs of clinic expansion.
  • Meet or exceed productivity requirements as set forth by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Develop and maintain clinical diagnostic and treatment protocols for pediatric treatment.
  • Remain available by phone during regularly scheduled hours should assistance be required.
  • Assist in the review and development of patient education material.
  • Provide supervision of health care students assigned to the clinic for educational purposes.
  • Develop and maintain a program for clinical quality assurance.
  • Supervise non-physician providers, including Licensed Therapists, Certified Nurse Practitioners, and Certified Physicians Assistants, with respect to pediatric treatment.
  • Attend staff meetings and committees as directed and punctually.
  • Participate in the Performance Improvement Program.
  • Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention, including FQHC-required voluntary family planning services and related preventative health services in compliance with funding requirements and state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Medical Doctorate with current licensure.
  • Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatrics.
  • Provider shall obtain, maintain and participate in the Medicare and Medicaid Programs, workers’ compensation, other federal and state reimbursement programs, and the payment plan of any commercial insurer, health maintenance organization, preferred provider organization, accountable health plan, and other health benefit program requested by Legacy.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

  • Possess an interest in working with adolescents
  • Uphold the Code of Ethics of their professional licensing entity.
  • Must complete the minimum hours of continuing education to maintain professional license.
  • Must maintain good standing with professional licensing board.
  • Must demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to all populations served.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community, and the general public.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation,
  • Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize
  • Adept in decision making responsibilities

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred
