Pharmacy Inventory Technician - Job Overview


Position Summary:
The Pharmacy 340B Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with the 340B Drug Pricing Program. This position assists with implementing and maintaining 340B-related policies and procedures, ensuring accurate and auditable records, and supporting Legacy’s compliance for medication procurement, billing, and inventory management.
 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with training, education, and communication to staff and program participants regarding updates to 340B policies and procedures.
  • Conduct monthly internal audits of drug transactions, inventory, and contract pharmacy activities to identify discrepancies and compliance issues.
  • Audit all points of service where 340B participation occurs to ensure compliance with program requirements, including entity and patient qualifications.
  • Analyze program data, utilization trends, and prepare reports on savings and performance metrics for leadership.
  • Review 340B purchasing records and software functionality to ensure accuracy.
  • Report deficiencies identified during audits and assist with corrective action plans.
  • Participate in developing quarterly and annual 340B reports documenting utilization, savings, and exceptions.
  • Audit formulary pricing and identify opportunities for additional savings through the 340B Prime Vendor Program.
  • Research companies offering 340B or equivalent pricing and develop strategies to maximize participation.
  • Provide timely communication regarding program changes and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of pharmacy technician experience required.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to interpret compliance regulations.
  • Preferred: Experience with 340B program compliance and auditing processes.
