Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized infectious disease care alongside general primary care, focusing on HIV patients and others as required.
- Develop and revise clinical guidelines for managing infectious diseases such as HIV, Hepatitis C, Tuberculosis, PrEP, non-occupational PEP, and occupational PEP.
- Diagnose, manage, and treat a wide range of health conditions, infections, chronic illnesses, and complex disorders.
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and vaccines to prevent or treat illnesses and infectious diseases.
- Collect, record, analyze, and maintain patient medical information, including histories, reports, and examination results.
- Communicate procedures, test results, and treatment plans to patients with clarity and compassion.
- Monitor patient progress and adapt treatment plans to ensure optimal care outcomes.
- Provide expert consultation and support to other providers within Legacy Community Health’s service lines.
- Offer guidance and expertise during infectious disease outbreaks, collaborating with public health organizations as needed.
- Supervise mid-level providers and mentor students to foster professional growth within the team.
- Contribute to research initiatives, including patient recruitment, data analysis, interpretation, and publication.
- Educate patients on health, wellness, and illness prevention while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and funding requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the clinic's mission and goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or DO with completion of an Infectious Disease Fellowship.
- Active participation in Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state reimbursement programs, as well as commercial insurance plans.
- At least 2 years of experience in Infectious Disease is preferred.
- Ability to perform duties to a reasonable and acceptable standard.
- Capable of managing multiple deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Adept at decision-making responsibilities.
