Medical Assistant Bilingual - Northline (Job Overview)
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM)

Key Responsibilities
- Interview patients to gather medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height.
- Record medical history, vital statistics, and test results in medical records.
- Collect and prepare blood, tissue, or other specimens for testing.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations, providing instruments and materials as needed.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and supply restocking.
- Clean and sterilize instruments, and manage contaminated supplies.
- Conduct phone consultations regarding test results and health concerns.
- Process specimens, ensuring proper labeling and packaging for lab pickup.
- Perform phlebotomy and other diagnostic tests.
- Administer medications as ordered, including oral, intramuscular, SubQ, and topical.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient care activities.
- Stock exam rooms with supplies, checking for expired items and managing waste.
- Participate in OSHA compliance programs and performance improvement initiatives.
- Promote a respectful and courteous environment for all patients and staff.
- Work collaboratively within a primary care medical home model.
- Attend safety training programs and adhere to safety protocols.
- Maintain work area and equipment per Legacy and governmental standards.
- Report safety concerns promptly and follow exposure control plans.
- Demonstrate proper use of protective equipment and maintain a safe environment.
- Attend annual education programs and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- BLS/CPR Certification required
- Up to one year experience
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
- Basic front desk, clerical or healthcare support specialist skills/experience
- Ability to work with clinical staff, works well under pressure, and multitask within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to the concepts of preventive health care and team approach to health care delivery Experience working with computers
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Phlebotomy skills preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records, preferred.
