Community Relations Manager - Job Overview

Schedule: Monday-Friday | Weekends As Needed | Hybrid

Community Relations Managers are responsible for identifying, building and maintaining relationships with community partners and targeted referral sources to promote new patient acquisition and patient retention. Community Relations Managers also serve as account managers and are responsible for managing the relationship with the accounts within their territory and are responsible for meeting monthly, quarterly and annual target volume goals. The CRM serves to understand the clients’ needs and plan how to meet these needs and generate new referrals for the organization as a result. The CRM serves as a representative of the agency and the general public at meetings, health fairs, presentations, trainings, and community events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for new patient acquisition for assigned target regions by identifying, soliciting and motivating prospects through a variety of methods such as cold-calls, lead qualification, presentations, and sales funnel management.
  • Understand and provide territory insight to assist in strategic development, goal setting and volume growth initiatives
  • Develop growth strategies for target markets and service lines and set goals and timelines for growing referral volumes based on new or established physician and outreach relationships.
  • Responsible for all external activities designed to expand Legacy’s reach in a new market, identifying strategic partnerships and opportunities within a regional segment to maximize brand awareness.
  • Develop and execute an annual outreach strategy and plan that is responsive and aligned with the clinic’s goals and objectives as determined by Site Leadership, Operations Leadership and Marketing.
  • Develop and formalize community partner relationships with key high-level stakeholders by implementing targeted number of agreements per month and annually and positioning themselves as the Account Manager for each community partner.
  • Identify and cultivate new relationships with local businesses, organizations, associations, and community leaders to meet volume goals.
  • Manage a deep catalog of professional relationships through effective communication and the ability to successfully position Legacy’s services and bring new patients into care.
  • Responsible for external provider relations and implement referral programming to build and nurture positive relationships between provider and clinic leadership to drive patient acquisition.
  • Ability to utilize account management software (Salesforce or similar) to manage a well-maintained book of business and organize all community relations outreach efforts.
  • Event management to include design, development and execution of onsite events that attract new clients and drive community awareness.
  • Maintain, communicate and evaluate relationships through effective communication and the ability to successfully position Legacy’s services and bring new patients into care.
  • Represent the agency publicly and recruit new patients at local community events, fundraisers, meetings, and other functions and interface with local community leaders.
  • Ensure that the clinic and staff are supported with appropriate materials to present our brand and services including all collateral materials, external sign programming, interior wayfinding, logo presentation, etc.
  • Assist with the development and communication of messaging that communicates the mission of the agency and the value of the services the agency offers to the community; evaluate message effectiveness.
  • Assist with the design, development and execution of client retention campaigns.
  • Assist with coordination of communications and marketing to the public, including advertising and media contracts.
  • Provide written and verbal reports on both routine activities and special projects. Submit biweekly report and monthly report of work-related activities, tasks completed, and upcoming events to supervisor and clinic director by the 10th of every month.
  • Develop and implement greater engagement strategies i.e. Facebook Live, chats, posts, giveaways at minimum 3 times per week.
  • Attend community meetings i.e. Super Neighborhood meetings that take place after normal business hours as required.
  • Employees will be required to carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
  • Works within the context of a primary care medical home, applying a team-based approach to care while working in partnership with patients/families to promote timely access to care, understanding of patient care that is culturally sensitive and language appropriate, continuity of care, and the improvement of the whole-person through the teaching of appropriate self-management skills.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
  • Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job–related hazards.
  • Attends all required safety education programs.
  • Operates assigned equipment and performs all procedures in a safe manner as instructed.
  • Maintains work area and equipment in condition required by Legacy standards.
  • Demonstrates proper body mechanics in all functions.
  • Checks on the patient’s environment and equipment to ensure safety. Reports on safety concerns promptly to appropriate personnel.
  • Follows Legacy’s exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures and correct use of protective barrier equipment (Universal Precautions).
  • Assures a safe environment by instituting appropriate control measures.
  • Attends annual education programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • Three (3) years’ experience in account management in a professional setting
  • Ability to work weekend and evening hours, as needed, for community events.
  • Experience in either the health care industry, account management, business development and/or marketing.
  • High level of understanding of health care industry and health insurance environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High level of interpersonal skills in order to effectively facilitate and foster internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to work independently, organize, set priorities and complete work within given deadlines.
  • Ability to track progress of job tasks, responsibilities and goals.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with local businesses, organizations, associations, and community leaders.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community and the general public.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint and Publisher. Willingness to learn new software and various Internet applications.
  • Strong written, verbal and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
  • Social networking experience (Facebook, Twitter and blogging)
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and decision-making responsibilities
