Pharmacy Technician Trainee
Location: Missouri City, TX - Pharmacy Department

Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in determining appropriate medication doses by gathering and entering vital patient information.
- Use meticulous dispensing procedures to ensure patients receive the correct medications.
- Maintain and stock medications and supplies with safety precautions, employing the proper filling techniques for drug preparation.
- Adapt to workload shifts by dynamically re-establishing priorities.
- Efficiently process insurance adjudications and pre-authorizations.
- Ensure compliance with Daily and Monthly Activity checklists, including expiration checks, cleaning routines, inspections, and ordering.
- Facilitate patient counseling sessions and document appropriately, adhering to protocol regarding refusal.
- Communicate effectively with referring physicians and insurance companies, guided by established procedures.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, guided by Legacy’s values, both in-person and during transactions.
- Participate in smooth hand-off communications during shift changes to uphold continuity of care.
- Preserve patient confidentiality and notify Supervisors of unresolved issues promptly for necessary follow-up.
- Share updates on drug shortages, availability, pricing, and track non-stock requests with the team.
- Maintain organized prescription files and perform daily cash collection and processing procedures.
- Embrace other duties as assigned to enhance pharmacy operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician trainee before starting the program.
- Capable of completing pharmacy technician registration requirements within a two-year period.
- Ability to pass a relevant math test focused on retail pharmacy functions.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) / Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is mandatory.
- Maintain all necessary certifications through the duration of the program.
