Health Information Management Specialist II - Job Overview

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-4:30PM)

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and process digitized medical records on a large scale, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with training initiatives and propose improvements for medical records management.
  • Gather and sort paper medical records from various clinics for seamless integration into the EHR System.
  • Collect and organize eFax and eDocuments for smooth import into the EHR System.
  • Utilize the document indexing system to manage work queues, document mapping, and reconciliation effectively.
  • Provide cross-coverage for various departmental functions, supporting your colleagues as needed.
  • Adhere to Legacy guidelines, upholding HIPAA standards and maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Participate in required meetings and safety training programs, contributing to a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrate proper body mechanics and report any safety concerns promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, showcasing your flexibility and dedication.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school graduation or GED.
  • 2 years of related experience or a degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Associate's Degree or higher with 2 years of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a clinical/healthcare setting preferred.
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Certification preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Word processing and computer experience preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record System (EHRS) preferred.
